Reviews

Bought this device mid winter 2025. For 25 years I have been using a stick to measure my cistern level. I gather filtered rain water from the roof of my house. After installing and monitoring this device for a month I came to the opinion that this device was a worthy purchase. It is nice to see the change in level after a rain.

Just want to say that the product works great! I really enjoy the convenience of following septic tank level on my phone. Previous alarm systems just were not reliable and cumbersome. I highly recommend this product.

Great water montoring device!! As a short term rental owner it has been such an easy way to monitor our cistern level, remotely, wherever we are in the world. Our water provider is notified automatically, cistern gets filled and I get an invoice. No more worrying about guests running out of water or getting a hold of the delivery company. I highly recommend it!!!

How do I install a PTLevel Water Level Monitor?

The PTLevel was designed to be easily installed by anyone and requires no special tools. Installation can be broken down into 3 simple steps:

1. Power the device. If you have the Long Range Wireless PTLevel, make sure to plug in the Receiver indoors where you have a strong WiFi signal. Then install the 4 provided AA batteries into the Transmitter (which can be installed outdoors at your tank up to 1km away from the Receiver). If you have the Wired WiFi PTLevel, you simply need to plug in the device where you have a strong WiFi signal and power. The screw down the lid tightly using a Phillips screw driver.

2. Connect to your WiFi. Using the PTDevices App for iOS or Android, easily follow the step-by-step WiFi connect steps by clicking “Set-up Device”. The hardest part is remembering your WiFi password.

3. Install the Transmitter on your tank. Whether you will be measuring a cistern, sump pump, chemical tank, or rain water harvesting system, this set-up is all the same. First connect the air tubing to the pressure chamber and twist the clamp on. The tubing comes already installed on the Transmitter. Then carefully lower the pressure chamber to the bottom of the tank (no need to trim excess tubing). Finally, press the Transmitter button and it will flash once and then blink 3 times in a row.
(If you’re installing on a septic tank, we recommend this setup to prevent the pressure chamber from clogging).
